The Turkish intelligence authorities and police have identified at least one of the suicide bombers from Saturday's terror attack on two Istanbul synagogues. Although no official confirmation had been issued as of last night, Turkish sources said that the identified man was a Turkish terrorist with extensive ties in Pakistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, and Afghanistan and who had also visited Dubai. The suspected bomber is Azad Ekinci, from southeast Turkey, whose older brother has been called in by Istanbul police to provide a DNA sample. The license plate on the vehicle that blew up outside the Beit Yisrael synagogue in Shishli was registered to the older brother. The second terrorist identified by the Turks is Mesud Cabuk, but it is not certain if he was involved in the incident or if his documents had been stolen and used to mislead the investigators. The police are questioning the parents of both named suspects as well as some of their other relatives. The Turkish sources said a third Turk, Feridun Ugurlu is also being investigated as a possible suspect. His parents are also under investigation.
