In supermarkets in Russia’s northern capital S.Peterburg, shoppers can now find kosher dairy products. A series of products under the brand name “Tevye the Milkman” are widely available, including milk, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, ryazhenka, cheese, butter, yogurt, miniature cheese-cake and other dairy sweets.
These kosher dairy foods are produced by the Moscow-based Kolomna-molprom plant under the supervision of the Kashrut Department of the Chief Rabbinate of Russia. They are “Chalav Yisrael” meaning that the milk used in the products was supervised from the very beginning of the milking process. Within a short time of “Tevye the Milkman” reaching S. Petersburg stores it became available at such popular retail establishments as the Pulkovskiy Supermarket, Super-Babylon, Globus Gourmet, as well as others.
The manufacturer also plans to supply its kosher milk products to S. Petersburg's largest grocery networks – O’Kay and Lenta.
The selection of kosher goods in S.Petersburg continues to expand, reflecting the increasing demand for kosher products that are of the highest quality.
