The concert held in memory of the great pianist and music teacher, Eva Kogan that took place in Almaty. When we learned about the upcoming concert in the organ Hall in Astana in memory of Eva Kogan, we informed all art lovers in our community through the Hesed. We loved the concert. For 90 minutes the Chief Teacher of the Fortepiano Chair of the Kazakh National University of Arts, winner of international music contests Dana Zhubanova-Ali played the music of Western European composers. She was the last student of Eva Kogan. She had been a student of this remarkable pianist for five years.
Classic music lovers including children and students held their breath to listen to the beautiful music and the filigree play. The pianist played genius Ludwig Van Beethoven, romantic Robert Shuman, and highly original, rarely performed Lithuanian composer, Mikaloyus Charlenis, lyrical Frederic Shopen, restless Sergey Rakhmaninov, touching Claude Debussy.
When Dana Zhubanova-Ali was presented with flowers she put them in front of the portrait of the legendary pianist. It was very symbolic. Dana Kudaibergenovna fulfills the motto of her teacher -"always do your best!" Dana Zhubanova-Ali’s students every year win the Churlenis Musical Contest held in Druskininskay. It is they who now possess the sincere, dedicated attitude to music, and the spirit of Eva Kogan.
