3rd annual Jewish Film Festival opened in Moscow, with hundreds of people in attendance of what has become one of the top cinematography events in the Russian capital over the last years.

The festival goes on till the 20th of June, and will showcase over 50 films, most of which have never been seen on the country’s screens.

“FJC of Russia has been supporting the festival since its beginning three years ago and we see how much the general public’s interest in Jewish cinematography has grown over the years,” said Mr. Alexander Boroda, the president of FJC Russia. “Many of these films have never been shown in Russia before, and the festival gives the public a chance to see these wonderful movies that deal with a wide range of issues within our culture.”

Besides the movie premiers the festival program also includes over 20 special events and educational activities, discussions with film-makers, animators, historians and literary figures. The showcases will take place in some of the most central Moscow venues, including the auditorium at FJC’s Jewish Museum and Tolerance center.

The festival is organized with the support of Israeli Genesis Fund, Russian Jewish Congress, Jewish Agency for Israel, FJC, Jewish Business Club “Solomon” and Ark Pictures production company.
