EAJC representative in Israel spoke at the "Limud" conference
29.12.2014, Region The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Deputy Secretary General, EAJC Representative in Israel Chaim Ben Yaakov took part in the 7th conference of the Jewish educational project "Limud Israel", held at Kibbutz Ginosar on the Sea of Galilee. The three-day festival brought together about 800 officially registered participants on 20-40 years aged.
The conference was organized by the "Limmud FSU" Project in collaboration with the Foundation for the friendship of Christians and Jews ("Keren le-Edidut") with the support of the Regional Council of the Jordan Valley, the Jewish National Fund (JNF-KKL), the Jewish Agency (JAFI) and a number of other partners. The program included a number of "round tables", guided tours, lectures on culture, art, Jewish history.
On the "Limud" conference lectures were writer Alexander Genis, cartoonist Garry Bardin, director of the Rudomino Russian State Library for Foreign Literature Catherine Geniyeva, historian Uri Milstein, broadcaster Gil Hovav and other celebrities. Skype-conference was held with the writer Amos Oz.
Haim Ben Yaakov delivered two lectures: "What happens to the Jewish character of the State of Israel?" and "Achievements of Israeli science and new international programs on the boycotts background."
