Robert Singer Visits EAJC Moscow Office
22.05.2015, Region The EAJC Moscow Office hosted a meeting of the Executive Vice President of the World Jewish Congress Robert Singer with the workers of the office and the active members of the Congress. The meeting was moderated by EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov.
Singer spoke about the everyday activities and strategic goals of the WJC and answered questions. When speaking about the WJC’s evaluation of the situation in South-Eastern Ukraine, he noted that the WJC is concerned not with any kind of political evaluation but with the well-being of the Jews who live in the conflict zone, and this is what the WJC will be acting on first and foremost. When evaluating the situation with anti-Semitism and Jewish community activity in Russia, Singer noted: “If the WJC Executive Vice President can easily afford not to visit a given country for half a year, it means that the situation for the Jews in that country is quite satisfactory. I hope the situation in Russia will remain that way.”
