On May 27, Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Council Chairman, VAAD Ukraine Chairman Josef Zisels spoke at the opening of an international panel discussion titled “Memory of the Holocaust: Educational Practices and Possibilities for Further Development in Modern Ukraine.” EAJC General Council member, director of Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies Dr. Anatoliy Podolsky also spoke at the opening ceremony.

The event was organized by the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy,” the Ukrainian Jewish Studies Association in tandem with the International Renaissance Foundation, and with the support of the Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine and the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). Ukraine is currently being officially discussed as a prospective IHRA observer.

Scholars, as well state and public activists such as Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Kvit, participated in the work of the panel.
