                  EAJC Awards Editor of “Ami” Newspaper

                  The editor-in-chief of the St. Petersburg newsletter “Ami - My People” Yakov Tsukerman was decorated with the highest award of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) - the “For Merits” medal. The awarding ceremony was timed to Tsukerman’s 70th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the “Ami” newsletter.

                  The decoration ceremony took place in the Grand Choral Synagogue of St. Petersburg at Tsukerman’s anniversary ceremony. Many community representatives took part in the ceremony, including the Head Rabbi of St. Petersburg Menachem Mendel Pevzner, Chairman of the Jewish Religious Community of St. Petersburg Mark Grubarg, Chairman of the “Maccabi-St.Petersburg” society, EAJC General Council member Vadim Polyanky.

                  The medal and accompanying diploma was presented to Tsukerman by councillor to the EAJC Secretary General Roman Spector and Moscow EAJC office spokesperson Nikolai Propirny. The EAJC representatives congratulated Tsukerman on behalf of the EAJC leadership and expounded on the many long and fruitful years of contributions which Tsukerman made to Jewish community building and the Jewish press.
