Shorashim Camp Ends 2015 Session in Ukraine

The children’s summer camp “Shorashim - Ukraine - 2015: Roots and Future of Diaspora Jews” ended its work on August 4 in the Chinadiyevo village of Ukraine’s Zakarpatskaya oblast’.

The program of the camp included intensive educational units on Jewish history, culture, and tradition, as well as clubs, sports competitions, all sorts of evening events, and joint Shabbat observances. Children from all over Ukraine and from other countries were able to discuss Jewish tradition, learn about Jewish history and the basics of Jewish culture while playing a variety of games.

The camp was organized by Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (VAAD) Ukraine with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. The camp has been taking place in various locations around Ukraine since 1993.
