Session of the Board of the Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund
09.11.2015, Region The regular session of the Board of the Dutch European Humanitarian Fund (JHF) was held in The Hague. During the session, took place a celebration in honor of Michael Chlenov, EAJC Secretary General and his two colleagues completed their cadence as members of the JHF Board. Chlenov was a member of the Board since 2002. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Dutch political elite, prominent public and religious figures. Haim Dibon, Ambassador of Israel to the Netherlands gave a word of thanks to Michael Chlenov.
About two hundred projects, received from the Jewish communities of the former Soviet Union and the former Communist bloc, were supported by the session. The bulk of the projects were from community organizations of small peripheral cities. The session distributed around one million Euros.
"The JHF Board is international – said EAJC Secretary General. – Among its members there are representatives of the countries of Europe, USA, Canada and Israel. Since the inception of JHF, those who represent the interests of communities-recipients are present in the Board. Today, people who stood at the origins of the Fund are gradually leaving the Board and are replaced by new ones. We are grateful to the Fund for all that was done, and look forward to continuing our fruitful cooperation."
