EAJC Secretary General met with the Foreign Minister of Kosovo
17.05.2016, Region During a working visit to Kosovo Michael Chlenov, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), visited Pristina, where he met with Enver Hoxhaj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo. The meeting was also attended by Yasha Alfandari, President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro, a member of the EAJC General Council, Flory Zevi, a local Jewish activist and Ines Demiri, the referent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister expressed his gratitude to the EAJC in the person of its Secretary General for the support of the Jewish community in Kosovo. He stressed that the community joining the authoritative Jewish international organization is meaningful for Kosovo Jews and for the country's leadership. The meeting was long and took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Chlenov visited the office of the "Beit Yisrael" non-governmental organization, which was founded in 2005. The organization, whose main goal is to establish relations with the State of Israel, made up of about a hundred members, eight of them have Jewish roots. "Beit Yisrael" organizes collective Jewish holidays for Jews who are working in Pristina, expats and tourists.
