Meeting with Foreign Minister of Croatia
31.05.2016, Region In Jerusalem, Haim Ben Yakov, the head of the EAJC Israeli office, Deputy Secretary General, took part in a meeting with Miro Kovač, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Croatia, who visited Israel on an official visit.
The meeting was organized by the Israel Council on Foreign Relations, acting under the auspices of the World Jewish Congress. The meeting was attended by members of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the diplomatic corps, experts, representatives of the Israeli and international public organizations and local associations of immigrants from the former Yugoslavia. Issues of Croatian-Israeli relations, opposition to anti-Semitism, restitution of Jewish property were discussed.
“My personal aim is that we use the predominantly positive feelings in Croatia for Israel and in Israel for Croatia to bring more substance to our relations, specifically in the areas of water management and agriculture. We are friends – friends who look to the future and who don't forget the past,” Kovač said.
