EAJC representative participates in Limud 2016 conference
22.12.2016, Region Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Deputy Secretary General, head of the Israeli EAJC office Haim Ben Yakov has participated in an anniversary Limmud conference, which took place in Eilat (Israel). In 2016, the Limmud CIS educational project celebrates 10 years of hard work. The first conference took place in Moscow in 2006. Over these 10 years, over 45000 Russia-speaking Jews have taken part in Limmud events, and this anniversary conference collected a record number of attendees - 2000 people.
The Limmud program in Eilat included several hundred lectures, panels, workshops, presentations, discussions, concerts and other entertainment, as well as a separate program for children.
Haim ben Yakov spoke at a session which discussed forms and methods of supporting the State of Israel and counteracting anti-Semitism that are commonly used by Diaspora communites, as well as questions of “double loyalty” in today’s world, both on a personal and on a political level.
